From the Harbor of the Ancients, a wail erupts with subterranean vibrations winding through forgotten rites and visions, calling on the apparitions of old to create foundations of the new. 

Originating from Göthenburg and card 16 in the tarot deck which stands for transformation and liberation, Tornet have been bringing impressive live performances to Swedish audiences since 2014 as a powerhouse of collective talent making heady, heavy proto-psychedelic rock. The band bring lush swathes of seething, melodic prog driven at its core by vocalist Martina Svärd’s deeply mysterious vocal command and Tornet’s tight, hard rocking delivery of thick riffing oscillates wildly from heavy rock to rich, bluesy doom and the recurrent appearance of metallic double guitars, to bounding basslines and a plethora of percussive elements providing ample groove and atmospheric embellishment of varied keys and harmonium. Unexpected trips of subdued yet intensely captivating instrumental passages and galloping heaviness result in a stylistic trip back to Haight Ashbury in the sixties and through the satanic panic of the seventies, and whilst being inspired by bands such as Coven, Dissection, November, Hansson & Karlsson, Jefferson Airplane and more and this powerful, purposeful and extremely prolific band is not just another retro rock band. They are something much more, opening the portal into a world of heavy riffing resonating from the centre of the earth with their magnificent and soulfully intense energy virtually bleeding primordial essence.

In September 2022, the band released their first full-length DOMEDAGAR on Majestic Mountain Records and are set to release new music this year in celebration of ten years as a band. Tornet has  been on tour in England, Poland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Germany and they are one of Sweden’s most coveted heavy, psychedelic gems.
